This annual event is always an important occasion for medical faculty students, fostering the development of clinical thinking, assessing theoretical knowledge, and preparing for future professional practice. The event is organized by the department to evaluate students’ readiness to work with children and to encourage a deeper study of medical disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, 25 students participated in the Olympiad: 15 in pediatrics and 10 in medical genetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympiad jury consisted of experienced specialists in pediatrics, faculty members of the department who are also practicing physicians. Their extensive experience in medical practice and teaching allows them to objectively assess students’ knowledge and skills, which is crucial for determining the best participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury was chaired by Acting Head of the Department, Associate Professor T.O. Vorontsova. Other jury members included Associate Professors S.O. Nykytiuk, T.V. Hariian, and N.M. Yarema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tasks were highly relevant, focusing on providing pediatric care in wartime conditions, assessing knowledge of current protocols, and approaches to diagnosing and treating various conditions in fields such as pediatric cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, nephrology, gastroenterology, and emergency medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pediatrics Olympiad is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with experienced faculty-practitioners, gain a deeper understanding of this specialty’s importance, and enhance their medical knowledge and practical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympiad, held by the Department of Pediatric Diseases with Pediatric Surgery, is an essential component of medical faculty education.
