On March 26, 2025, the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Education at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University hosted the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad for the 2024\/2025 academic year. The competition was held in the “Examination, Assessment Methods, and Control of Musculoskeletal Disorders” discipline and was open to students specializing in Physical and Occupational Therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The responsibility for organizing the first stage of the Olympiad was assigned to Associate Professor Valentyna Boiko from the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Education. The jury panel included Professor Dariia Popovych, Head of the Department, Associate Professor Anastasiia Bai, and Assistants Uliana Hevko and Andrii Havrylenko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began with a moment of silence in honor of those who sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants of the Olympiad were third-year students of the Physical Therapy educational and professional program. The competition served as a test of knowledge and an opportunity for students to showcase their intellectual potential in both the theoretical and practical aspects of a physical therapist\u2019s professional activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Structure of the Olympiad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympiad was conducted in one stage, consisting of two blocks<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theoretical block<\/strong> \u2013 included a test with 48 questions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical block<\/strong> \u2013 required students to demonstrate their practical skills<\/strong> in the preclinical practice room at the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jury members carefully evaluated the participants\u2019 performance and identified those who demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge in physical therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners of the Olympiad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an intense competition, the winners were:<\/p>\n\n\n

  • 1st place:<\/strong> Yuliia Furdyk (MT-301)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 2nd place:<\/strong> Valentyn Zasik (MT-302)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 3rd place:<\/strong> Dariia Pryhodiuk (MT-302), Orest Novosiadlyi (MT-303), and Anastasiia Meiechko (MT-301)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    Professor Dariia Popovych, Head of the Department, congratulated the winners after the competition. She also encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their professional journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The winners were awarded diplomas, which recognized their achievements and served as motivation for further studies at TNMU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Olympiad played a crucial role in evaluating and rewarding talented students and served as a valuable incentive for professional growth and development among aspiring physical therapists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
