On April 15, 2025, fourth- and fifth-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, accompanied by Associate Professors Mariia Mykhalkiv and Tetiana Kucher from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, visited \u201cHalychpharm\u201d for an educational tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit began with a historical overview of the enterprise. Human Resources Specialist Khrystyna Smaliukh explained that the company\u2019s origins trace back to 1826, when Czech entrepreneur P. Mikolash opened the pharmacy “Under the Star” in Lviv. Initially, medications were produced using semi-finished products imported from Vienna. In the early 1900s, P. Mikolash founded the pharmaceutical company “Petro Mikolash & Co.”, marking a key stage in the development of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry in Halychyna. In 1910, the company received a license to open the pharmaceutical factory \u201cLaocoon,\u201d which began mass production of pills, ointments, plasters, extracts, tinctures, and infusion solutions using traditional technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1913, the products of \u201cLaocoon\u201d were awarded a gold medal and honorary diploma at the 3rd International Chemical and Pharmaceutical Exhibition in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Halychpharm manufactures approximately 87 generic and original pharmaceutical products in various forms, including L-lysine aescinate injections, tablets, solutions, extracts, syrups, and drops. Its products are present in 14 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a presentation about the company\u2019s operations, students actively asked questions about employment opportunities, career development, salaries, staff turnover, and corporate culture. It was emphasized that the company values talented, successful, and goal-oriented individuals, and their achievements are recognized and appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next part of the visit included a tour of the production facilities of Halychpharm, led by Head of the Chemical Department Roman Rudovskyi. He provided detailed explanations and demonstrations of the production processes for medications such as Urolesan, Alteyka, Rezystol, and Mukaltyn, as well as the methods used for producing liquid, thick, and dry extracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HR specialist Ihor Kaliuta highlighted that \u201cHalychpharm\u201d adheres to strict quality standards at all stages of drug development. Its manufacturing capacities comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The quality management system follows the principles of the International Council for Harmonisation (ICH Q8, ICH Q9, ICH Q10), ISO 22000 and ISO 14001 standards, Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and Good Storage Practice (GSP) guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s core mission is to design, produce, and market high-quality medicines both in Ukraine and internationally, ultimately contributing to a healthy, productive, and long life for people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants of the visit expressed their sincere gratitude for the insightful, modern, and relevant information shared, as well as the opportunity to experience the pharmaceutical manufacturing process firsthand at \u201cHalychpharm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
