On April 23, 2025, a team of volunteer doctors from Taiwan met with representatives of the administration of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU)<\/strong> to discuss potential areas of collaboration. Most members of the delegation are affiliated with Mackay Memorial Hospital<\/strong>, a leading medical institution in Taiwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Shu-Jen Yeh<\/strong>, Pediatric Cardiologist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Pei-Shan Wu<\/strong>, Emergency Physician<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nurse Chia-Yi Sun<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kuan-Ting Chen<\/strong>, Cardiologist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kuang-Wei Chen<\/strong>, Traditional Medicine Practitioner<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. En-Tse Yen<\/strong>, Dentist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Sung-Hsien Chiu<\/strong>, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jen-Yu Chuang<\/strong>, Hematologist-Oncologist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TNMU Rector, Professor Mykhailo Korda<\/strong>, welcomed the guests and spoke about the university’s innovative approaches to medical education, the challenges faced by Ukraine and its healthcare system during the full-scale invasion, and the institution\u2019s achievements in science and research. Afterward, both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, on April 23, cardiologists Dr. Kuan-Ting Chen<\/strong> and Dr. Shu-Jen Yeh<\/strong> delivered lectures to TNMU students on current topics in cardiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guests had the opportunity to explore the university\u2019s Research Laboratory<\/strong> and Simulation Training Center<\/strong> in more detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary purpose of the Taiwanese doctors’ visit was to provide free medical services<\/strong> during the deployment of a Mobile Clinic in Ukraine<\/strong>. In Ternopil, members of vulnerable groups and internally displaced persons were able to receive consultations and medical advice on April 23\u201324<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mission was organized by the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine<\/strong>, and TNMU students actively assisted the Taiwanese doctors during patient consultations, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
