On May 8, 2025, a training and practical conference \u201cModern Aspects of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Lyme Borreliosis\u201d<\/em> was held at the Chortkiv Medical Professional College for physicians from Chortkiv, Monastyryska, Buchach, Terebovlia, Zalishchyky, Borshchiv, and Husiatyn city hospitals. The event was organized by I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liubomyr Bilyk<\/strong>, Director of the Chortkiv Medical Professional College, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, PhD in Medical Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was officially opened by Professor Stepan Zaporozhan<\/strong>, Vice-Rector for Science? Education and Clinical Affairs, Honored Healthcare Worker of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A keynote speech was given by Professor Mykhailo Andreichyn<\/strong>, Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, Dermatology, and Venereology. He emphasized the relevance of the topic and presented a report \u201cChallenges of Tick-Borne Infections in Ukraine and Worldwide.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oksana Chaichuk<\/strong>, Director of the Ternopil Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Ministry of Health), shared a presentation on \u201cEpidemiological Aspects of Lyme Borreliosis and Other Infections in Ternopil Region.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Mariia Shkilna<\/strong>, from the Department of Infectious Diseases, discussed the relevance of tick-borne infections for forestry workers and introduced new medical care standards for Lyme disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ihor Rohalskyi<\/strong>, Head of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Ternopil Region, spoke about the specifics of Lyme borreliosis in children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Svitlana Smiiian<\/strong>, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 2, presented on \u201cRheumatologic Masks of Lyme Disease.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olena Herasymenko<\/strong>, Chief Infectious Disease Specialist of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, covered the clinical and diagnostic aspects<\/em> of Lyme disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olena Budarna<\/strong>, Associate Professor of the TNMU Department of Neurology, delivered a report \u201cNeurological Masks of Lyme Disease.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference served as an opportunity to summarize the work done and set new goals for addressing the challenges of diagnosing and treating Lyme disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
