I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University actively participates in international educational projects supported by the Erasmus+ program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From February 25 to May 9, 2025<\/strong>, students and faculty of TNMU\u2019s Educational and Research Institute of Nursing took part in the Blended Intensive Program (BIP)<\/strong> \u201cBreastfeeding and Early Interaction: Basics and Beyond<\/strong>,\u201d alongside participants from Finland, Estonia, Austria, and Belgium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BIP aimed to enhance professional competencies in nursing, particularly in the areas of breastfeeding support<\/strong> and early mother-infant interaction<\/strong>. Participants had the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master modern approaches to supporting breastfeeding;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Study evidence-based methods for promoting breastfeeding based on international best practices;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn about the organization of the educational process and the integration of innovative methods into subjects related to lactation consulting;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exchange experiences with international colleagues and establish professional contacts for future collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program had a hybrid format<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offline phase (May 5 \u2013 9, 2025) in Vienna, Austria:<\/strong> The in-person sessions included simulations that enabled students to practice and explore complex breastfeeding-related topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online phase (Feb 25 \u2013 May 2, 2025):<\/strong> Students studied the theoretical aspects of breastfeeding and early interaction using the Moodle platform<\/strong> of the Tallinn Health Care College. Faculty members contributed by developing course content, including lectures, quizzes, and workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian team<\/strong> was represented by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna Melymyka, Kateryna Sapyla, Olesia Holodnikova, Valeriia Kononska, and Anastasiia Kolesnyk<\/strong> (second-year students of the Institute of Nursing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yuliia Danylevych and Yuliia Kotsaba<\/strong> (Department of Advanced Nursing Education, Patient Care, and Clinical Immunology),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week in Vienna included simulation training, visits to the human milk bank<\/strong> and an outpatient breastfeeding support center<\/strong>, interactive workshops, lectures, and cultural events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation in the program allowed the TNMU team to significantly enhance their knowledge and practical skills<\/strong> in breastfeeding support. It provided exposure to modern European approaches, clinical protocols<\/strong>, and innovative teaching methods<\/strong> actively used in the training of healthcare professionals abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the program contributed to the expansion of international cooperation<\/strong>, opening opportunities for further collaboration and experience exchange\u2014especially valuable for integrating Ukrainian medical education into the European Higher Education Area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience gained will be implemented into the nursing curricula at TNMU<\/strong>, helping to train high-level professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
