From May 6 to 20, 2025, students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing, Iryna Derdata and Anastasiia Porokhniak, together with the Deputy Director of the Institute, Vita Slavopas, took part in an international internship within the framework of the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) “Interprofessional Simulation for Future Education in Health Care Professions”<\/strong>, hosted by FH Campus Wien \u2013 University of Applied Sciences<\/strong> (Vienna, Austria).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This educational initiative brought together representatives of higher education institutions from Austria, Belgium, Finland, Portugal, Slovenia, Estonia, Canada, and Ukraine. The aim of the program was to enhance professional competence through the simulation of clinical situations in an interdisciplinary environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The in-person part of the internship took place from May 12 to 16 and included the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n

    \n
  • Intensive training sessions in the simulation center and clinical skills laboratories;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Participation in keynote presentations and discussions on the role of simulation-based education in the training of healthcare professionals;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Engagement in interprofessional scenarios with a focus on communication skills, critical thinking, and teamwork;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Familiarization with innovative approaches to prebriefing and debriefing sessions in accordance with INACSL<\/strong> international standards;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Opportunities to exchange experiences with colleagues from other countries, attend workshops, and take part in a cultural program (including a visit to the Josephinum Medical Museum<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    The BIP also included two virtual phases that complemented the in-person learning and deepened participants\u2019 understanding of interprofessional simulation:<\/p>\n\n\n

      \n
    • On May 6<\/strong>, the first online session was held, during which participants joined the Moodle<\/strong> platform to explore course materials, introduce themselves in the online community, and prepare short presentations based on preliminary tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • On May 20<\/strong>, the final stage of the program took place, dedicated to reflecting on the experience gained and presenting final projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

      Both virtual phases were interactive and focused on intercultural exchange, collaboration, and the development of reflective skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
