A delegation from I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, consisting of Svitlana Danchak<\/strong>, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing, and Associate Professor Liudmyla Mazur<\/strong>, took part in the Narrative Matters 2025<\/strong> conference held on May 13\u201316<\/strong> in Paris, France<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conference, the results of a joint research project between TNMU and MacEwan University<\/strong> (Edmonton, Canada) “Nursing in Combat Zones”<\/em> were presented. This study has been ongoing since 2023 and is one of several collaborative projects carried out over more than a decade of cooperation between the two higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elizabeth Burges-Pinto<\/strong> (MacEwan University, Canada) and Liudmyla Mazur<\/strong> presented the results of the pilot phase of the study, which involved interviews with nurses from civilian healthcare facilities in Ternopil. Members of the TNMU research team conducted the interviews, while MacEwan University researchers were responsible for translating the interviews into English and analyzing the texts using narratological methodologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference had a broad international representation, with over 200 participants from across Europe and North America. The program included more than 25 parallel sessions and three keynote speeches. Narrative Matters 2025<\/strong> served as a multidisciplinary forum that fostered wide-ranging academic discussions both during and beyond the sessions, and provided valuable networking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conference, TNMU representatives discussed the potential for new international collaborative projects, including initiatives in the field of mental health<\/strong> with Molly Andrews<\/strong> (University College London, UK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
