Professor Ihor Mysula<\/strong>, Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong>, was invited to give a presentation at the 2nd National Scientific Conference \u201cPhysical Therapy and Complementary Disciplines\u201d<\/strong>, held on May 22\u201323, 2025<\/strong>, at the John Paul II University of Applied Sciences in Bia\u0142a Podlaska<\/strong> (Poland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference aimed to present the latest scientific research in disciplines complementary to physical therapy, highlighting their practical applications to enhance professional competencies of physical therapists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Polish researchers, the event featured participants from Ukraine<\/strong> and Lithuania<\/strong>, as well as professionals from the fields of medicine<\/strong>, social sciences<\/strong>, natural sciences<\/strong>, engineering<\/strong>, and others involved in comprehensive rehabilitation to ensure optimal recovery of patients\u2019 health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conference, 55 oral presentations<\/strong> and 19 poster presentations<\/strong> were delivered. The reports ranged from theoretical to practical and sparked interest, especially those covering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the use of verbal and nonverbal communication tools<\/strong> in patient interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

innovative rehabilitation approaches for people with disabilities,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the role of psychological rehabilitation<\/strong> in recovery,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

rehabilitation of coma patients<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the importance of speech therapy<\/strong> in recovery,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the high number of patients suffering from chronic pain syndrome<\/strong>, presentations on modern pain management techniques in physical therapy received special attention. Other notable topics included:<\/p>\n\n\n

    \n
  • motor function correction<\/strong> after injuries or diseases,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • molecular-genetic aspects<\/strong> of diseases and individualized rehabilitation programs for such patients,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • rehabilitation of people with vision, hearing, or cognitive impairments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    The conference also featured presentations on physioprevention<\/strong> and rehabilitation of patients of different ages with lifestyle-related diseases<\/strong>, as well as rehabilitation in pediatrics<\/strong>, sports<\/strong>, and oncology<\/strong>. There was considerable interest in new rehabilitation equipment<\/strong>, SPA procedures<\/strong>, and their role in long-term recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    An active discussion followed sessions on the modern use of hydrotherapy<\/strong> and Nordic walking<\/strong> in rehabilitation. Two practical workshops were also held:<\/p>\n\n\n

      \n
    • training of deep core muscles using specialized breathing techniques;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • alternative and augmentative communication in physical therapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

      Professor Ihor Mysula<\/strong> presented a report \u201cThe Effectiveness of Stabiloplatform Use in the Rehabilitation of Elderly Patients After Ischemic Stroke.\u201d<\/em> The presentation was well-received by the participants, who emphasized the relevance of this research and the need to continue and expand it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Information gained during the conference will be applied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      to improve the quality of rehabilitation services<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      in the educational process<\/strong> of students of \u201cMedicine\u201d and \u201cTherapy and Rehabilitation\u201d programs at TNMU;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      to further expand partnerships<\/strong> between Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong> and the John Paul II University of Applied Sciences in Bia\u0142a Podlaska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
