On June 12\u201313, 2025, the international conference \u201cContemporary Research on War-Related Mental Health Traumas\u201d was held in Warsaw, Poland. The event focused on the challenges in the field of mental health during wartime and was organized under the auspices of the Polish Academy of Sciences, with the participation of representatives from the mental healthcare systems of Ukraine, Poland, Israel, the USA, Spain, Australia, and other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ternopil National Medical University was represented at the event by the university\u2019s Rector, Professor Mykhailo Korda, and the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology, Professor Olena Venher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Mykhailo Korda took part in strategic sessions dedicated to reforms in medical education and the role of universities in shaping mental healthcare systems during wartime. He emphasized the importance of the active involvement of higher education institutions in the development of mental healthcare and the preservation of mental well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Olena Venher moderated the panel discussion \u201cBarriers in the Implementation of Evidence-Based Treatments\u201d<\/em>, which addressed organizational, professional, and cultural barriers to the implementation of evidence-based methods for treating post-traumatic disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key topics discussed during the conference included:
\ud83d\udd39 Psychological consequences of war for civilians, military personnel, children, and internally displaced persons.
\ud83d\udd39 Effective approaches to the rehabilitation and treatment of PTSD.
\ud83d\udd39 Building psychological resilience and supporting professionals who work with trauma-affected populations.
