As part of the twinning partnership between TNMU and the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health of the University of Manchester, fourth-year students Khrystyna Filvarska, Sofiia Huk, Sofiia Nepeliak, Uliana Poberezhnyk, and Viktoriia Zavyslianska participated in the Medical Summer Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, around July 20 to August 8, the University of Manchester organizes an International Summer School in three fields: Bioscience, Medicine, or Public Health. The Medical Schools are relatively new, having been launched only last summer under the leadership of Dr. Hazel England. The program is structured into weekly modules: \u201cThe Doctor as a Communicator,\u201d \u201cThe Doctor as a Practitioner,\u201d and \u201cThe Doctor as a Researcher.\u201d<\/em> Every day included lectures, workshops, master classes, and joint social events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school brought together participants from various countries, including Egypt, China, Lebanon, India, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, France, and the UAE. Communication and exchange of experiences became an essential part of the training, providing an opportunity to share ideas on improving healthcare services worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the TNMU students: \u201cThe program exceeded our expectations: in addition to lectures, there were many interactive workshops, clinical case simulations, and practical sessions that allowed us to feel like real doctors. The most valuable part was the exchange of knowledge and communication with students from different countries, which gave us a chance to see medicine from a global perspective. The atmosphere of the school was very dynamic \u2014 every day brought new topics, challenges, and teamwork. Equally important were the social activities: excursions around Manchester, cultural evenings, nightly UNO games, trips to York and a lake cruise, activities from the interns, and meetings with our international friends, which helped us better understand the traditions and values of different cultures. This experience was not only educational but also inspiring, as it gave us new ideas for future professional development and valuable international contacts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They added: \u201cWe are also truly grateful to one another for sharing this amazing opportunity together. Each of us is and will remain an integral part of this unforgettable journey.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students expressed their gratitude to everyone who made this trip possible and supported them in Manchester: Rector Mykhailo Korda, Oksana Shevchuk, Dr. Jose Puello, Dr. Hazel England, Humerah, Raya, the interns (Jasmine, Julia, Ellen, Muhammed, Farawel, Aadya, and others), and all program participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

P.S. Manchester will also be remembered for its unpredictable weather: even on sunny days, an umbrella and a raincoat turned out to be the best companions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
