For the second year in a row, the dental department of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University has been providing free dental care to combatants, persons with disabilities caused by war, foreign citizens serving under contract, and released prisoners of war. Over the past year, 1,356 servicemen have received dental treatment, including 161 who were provided with dental prosthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TNMU Dental Department operates under two main National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) projects \u2014 dental prosthetics<\/strong> and dental treatment<\/strong>. The team providing dental care to servicemen includes:
\u2013 Volodymyr Machohan<\/strong> \u2013 Head of the Department
\u2013 Svitlana Rosolovska<\/strong> \u2013 Orthopedic Dentist
\u2013 Anna Vorobets<\/strong> \u2013 Orthopedic Dentist
\u2013 Oksana Petryk<\/strong> \u2013 Therapeutic Dentist
\u2013 Khrystyna Loza<\/strong> \u2013 Oral Surgeon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the head of the dental department, Volodymyr Machohan<\/strong>, the department has been operating since 2016. From the very beginning, its specialists started offering free dental care to ATO veterans. All procedures were funded by the university, which supplied the basic dental materials. The doctors volunteered their time, purchased additional materials at their own expense, and involved dental interns in the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April 2024<\/strong>, the TNMU Dental Department signed a contract with the NHSU to provide dental prosthetic services<\/strong> for servicemen, and in July<\/strong> \u2014 for dental treatment<\/strong>. This made it possible to expand the scope of assistance and secure funding through state mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On their own initiative, the following faculty members also assist in treating servicemen:
\u2013 Liudmyla Pyasetska<\/strong> \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of Orthopedic Dentistry
\u2013 Halyna Stoikevych<\/strong> \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of Postgraduate Dentistry
\u2013 Iryna Antonyshyn<\/strong> \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of Therapeutic Dentistry
\u2013 Nataliia Hutor<\/strong> \u2013 Associate Professor, Department of Surgical Dentistry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At TNMU, free dental prosthetic services<\/strong> are available to:
\u2013 combatants;
\u2013 persons with disabilities caused by war;
\u2013 servicemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To receive services, applicants must provide copies and originals of the following documents:
\u2013 Ukrainian citizen\u2019s passport;
\u2013 taxpayer identification number;
\u2013 certificate (combatant \/ person with war-related disability \/ war participant certificate and\/or military ID for enlisted, sergeant, or senior ranks).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Servicemen who are not currently on leave may also receive a referral from their unit commander for dental treatment or prosthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
