On October 16, 2025<\/strong>, in observance of World Restart a Heart Day<\/strong>, an interactive training session on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)<\/strong> was held at the administrative building of Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWorld Restart a Heart Day<\/strong> is a global initiative launched by the European Resuscitation Council<\/strong> with the support of the European Parliament<\/strong>. Its main goal is to raise awareness about the importance of CPR and to motivate as many people as possible to learn how to act in case of sudden cardiac arrest,\u201d noted Professor Arsen Hudyma<\/strong>, Head of the Department of Emergency and Simulation Medicine at TNMU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonina Chervatyuk<\/strong>, Head of the Simulation Training Center, added that the symbol of this day \u2014 two hands interlocked \u2014 represents a simple yet life-saving action: chest compressions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a brief introduction to the significance of World Restart a Heart Day, representatives of the Department of Emergency and Simulation Medicine and paramedic students<\/strong> conducted a master class<\/strong> on providing assistance in cases of cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

To reinforce the acquired knowledge, participants were invited to practice CPR skills through interactive exercises<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that in Ukraine, this initiative is coordinated by the Ukrainian Resuscitation and Emergency Medical Care Council<\/strong>, which aims to unite doctors, rescuers, educators, and volunteers to increase the number of lives saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also worth remembering that cardiovascular diseases account for nearly 65% of deaths in Ukraine<\/strong>, with almost half due to sudden cardiac arrest<\/strong>. Early CPR performed by bystanders<\/strong> is one of the key factors that significantly increases a person\u2019s chances of survival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
