The charitable organization \u201cProtez Hub\u201d together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, within the project \u201cMine Action in Ukraine\u201d<\/em> and with the financial support of the Government of the Republic of Korea, organized a training for rehabilitation specialists on the use of assessment tools to determine the functional abilities of individuals with limb amputations and to prescribe assistive rehabilitation devices in cooperation with a prosthetist-orthotist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was conducted to prepare rehabilitation teams for meeting the requirements of the Standard for the Provision of Rehabilitation Care for Limb Amputation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professors of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, Tetiana Bakaliuk<\/strong> and Iryna Kamyshna<\/strong>, both physicians in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM), took part in the training \u201cApplication of Assessment Tools for Determining the Functional Abilities of Individuals with Limb Amputations.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rehabilitation specialists from across Ukraine participated in the training in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. All members of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team (PRM physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists) were involved in the training process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lectures were delivered by PRM physicians and physical therapists from the Center of Excellence at Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was conducted in an interactive format, where participants performed practical tasks, tested various assessment instruments, and evaluated the real-world functional abilities of individuals after amputations. Special attention was given to assessing patients\u2019 readiness for prosthetic use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
