From November 17 to 21, 2025, the Simulation Training Center of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, with the support of the WHO Country Office in Ukraine, hosted the third thematic improvement training cycle for primary care nurses on the topic: \u201cManagement of Patients with Arterial Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Implementation of Updated Standards of Medical Care in Nursing Practice Based on the WHO PEN Tool.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This training course was the third in a series of workshops implemented as part of the World Health Organization Ukraine initiative, aimed at strengthening the role of nurses in the modern healthcare system, particularly in general practice and family medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was conducted by instructors from the Department of Higher Nursing Education, Patient Care, and Clinical Immunology, who are certified WHO trainers for this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curriculum covered evidence-based approaches to managing patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus in accordance with international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nurses from general practice and family medicine departments of healthcare institutions in the Zaporizhzhia and Ternopil regions participated in this thematic improvement cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the autumn semester, a total of three training courses were held. Forty-five primary care nurses from various regions of Ukraine (Kyiv city, Kyiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, and Zakarpattia regions) enhanced their knowledge and skills and received certificates with CPD credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
