A student of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University not only pursues her professional education but also promotes the physical therapy profession among young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 4, 2025, Solomiya Hyz, a Master\u2019s student majoring in \u201cTherapy and Rehabilitation\u201d (group TR-102-M), visited her alma mater \u2014 the General Secondary Education School I\u2013II degrees in the village of Bonevychi of the Dobromyl City Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solomiya delivered an interactive lecture for students in grades 5\u20139, explaining the essence and prospects of modern rehabilitation in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting began with debunking stereotypes. The student explained to the schoolchildren that a physical therapist is not a \u201cmasseur\u201d or \u201cfitness trainer,\u201d but a highly qualified specialist who helps patients regain lost motor functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special attention during the lecture was given to the rehabilitation of military personnel, which is extremely relevant in today\u2019s conditions. Solomiya Hyz told the children about working with heroes who sustained combat injuries, about modern bionic prosthetics, and even the use of VR technologies in recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to theory, the meeting also had a practical component. The student conducted an experiment with the pupils, demonstrating the impact of gadgets on posture (\u201ctext neck syndrome\u201d) and taught them simple exercises to prevent back pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key aspect of the conversation was the segment devoted to inclusion and communication ethics. Solomiya emphasized the principle \u201cpeople first, diagnosis second,\u201d explaining to the students the rules of respectful communication with individuals who have disabilities, use wheelchairs, or prosthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor me, it was important to return to my school in a new role and show the children that the profession of a physical therapist is about helping others, scientific knowledge, and supporting our defenders,\u201d said Solomiya Hyz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such initiatives by TNMU students help schoolchildren make informed career choices and shape in adolescents a proper understanding of the importance of rehabilitation medicine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
