During Academic Integrity Week, Iryna Stechyshyn, Head of the Academic Integrity Center, held a meeting with third-year students of the \u201cGeneral Medicine\u201d educational program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion began with an explanation that academic integrity is a set of ethical principles and rules that ensure honesty, fairness, and responsibility in learning and scientific activities. Adherence to these principles builds trust in educational outcomes and strengthens the professional reputation of future specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guarantor of the educational program, Doctor of Medical Sciences Oleksandra Oleshchuk, emphasized the key role of academic integrity principles in shaping the professional competence of future physicians and their responsibility toward patients and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, attention was drawn to the university\u2019s core values, which are based on honesty, mutual respect, responsibility, and trust. It was highlighted that the student community is an active partner in implementing integrity policies, and every student is both a bearer and a defender of these principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The criteria for evaluating academic performance, rules of transparency and objectivity during module assessments, and the absolute prohibition of cheating and using unauthorized materials were discussed. Special attention was given to issues of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and corruption risks in education, as well as ways to prevent violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A separate part of the discussion addressed support for students in maintaining academic standards: participants were reminded about available consultations at the Center, opportunities to receive methodological guidance on proper citation and formatting of written assignments, as well as tools for checking texts for academic misconduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of open dialogue. Students actively asked questions and participated in the discussion, demonstrating their engagement and deep understanding of the importance of academic culture in professional training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
