Since September 2018, I. Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU)<\/strong> has been continuing systematic cooperation with the \u201cHouse of Mercy\u201d<\/strong> in the city of Chortkiv, where children in need of medical support and care are under the guardianship of the Buchach Eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coordination of the medical component of the partnership is ensured by Stepan Zaporozhan<\/strong>, under whose supervision the Dental Department<\/strong> and the Mental Health Center<\/strong> operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the framework of the partnership, specialists from the university clinic regularly provide medical treatment and diagnostic services to the children residing at the institution. A separate area of cooperation is free dental care<\/strong>: the university\u2019s dental unit offers children the necessary consultations and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative has now been joined by the TNMU Mental Health Center<\/strong>, established in November 2025. As part of the Center\u2019s activities, children from the House of Mercy receive free psychiatric and psychological consultations<\/strong>, both via telemedicine<\/strong> and during on-site visits by specialists to Chortkiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another important area of cooperation, facilitated by the ruling hierarchy of the Buchach Eparchy of the UGCC, and by Bishop Dmytro Hryhorak, includes\u00a0educational activities for the\u00a0clergy<\/strong>. On January 27\u201328, 2026<\/strong>, psychiatrist Oleksandr Lozynskyi<\/strong> and clinical psychologist Nataliia Verbetska<\/strong> conducted a two-day training session for clergy on the topic \u201cStress and Burnout in Pastoral Ministry.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TNMU will continue to develop socially significant projects to support children and communities in need of professional medical and psychological assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
