In February 2026, the Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong> hosted a professional development course for academic staff titled \u201cSimulation-Based Learning School.\u201d<\/strong> The program was designed for 3 ECTS credits (90 hours) and combined intensive hands-on practice with remote learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants spent 32 hours directly in the Simulation Learning Center. In addition to a detailed introduction to the center\u2019s resources, mannequins, and simulators, instructors focused on specific teaching tools. They practiced the \u201cFour-Step Method\u201d<\/strong> for teaching students practical skills, ran simulation scenarios with subsequent debriefings, and explored the nuances of conducting exam scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside practical sessions, 58 hours were dedicated to independent work on the Google Classroom<\/strong> platform. Instructors studied international standards for simulation-based educational technologies and developed their own scenarios and checklists, which they will later apply in their departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants highly appreciated this interactive format. \u201cThe most valuable part of the training was the feedback after each stage of learning, the quality of lecture materials, and the individual approach to each of us,\u201d shared the participants. For many, the course became an impetus to rethink their role in the educational process: \u201cThis course gave me not just a set of tools, but a new philosophy of teaching.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High interest in the course confirms its relevance: the next training session is scheduled for June 2026, and the group for that period is already fully formed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience gained will help instructors make practical classes and exams in the simulation center more structured and effective, ensuring students receive high-quality preparation for their future clinical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
