On March 16 and 23, 2026, lecturers of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry\u2014Prof. L. Lohoida, Assoc. Prof. O. Poliak, Assoc. Prof. N. Zarivna, and Assoc. Prof. M. Mykhalkiv, together with fifth-year students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pharmacy, visited \u201cHalychpharm\u201d JSC and the Department of Pharmaceutical, Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry at Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. The visits took place within the elective course \u201cIndustrial Practice by Specialization: Pharmaceutical Chemistry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their visit to \u201cHalychpharm\u201d JSC, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern pharmaceutical manufacturing that meets high-quality standards. Particular attention was paid to the Quality Control Department, where medicines are analyzed at all stages of production. The participants also visited the company\u2019s research center, where pharmaceutical and analytical development is carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally engaging was the visit to the \u201cHalychpharm\u201d museum, which reflects the history of the enterprise, the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Ukraine, and showcases product samples from different periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, the participants visited the Department of Pharmaceutical, Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry, where they had the opportunity to communicate with leading scientists. Of particular interest was a meeting with the Head of the Department, Professor Roman Lesyk\u2014a renowned scientist in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry in Ukraine and worldwide, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, author of numerous scientific works and developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. R. Lesyk is included in the list of the world\u2019s most cited scientists according to Stanford University\u2019s ranking (Top 2% Scientists), which confirms the high level of his research and international recognition. He is also the leader of numerous grant projects (NRFU, NAWA, Horizon).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the leadership of Prof. Lesyk, the Center for Molecular Drug Design operates, focusing on the creation of new biologically active compounds with potential pharmacological effects. The center combines modern approaches such as computer modeling, organic synthesis, and biological screening, enabling efficient discovery of new drug candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students were also introduced to the activities of the Ukrainian Society of Medicinal Chemistry\u2014a professional organization founded by Prof. Lesyk, which unites researchers in the field, promotes scientific development, international cooperation, and the global recognition of Ukrainian scientific achievements. It is worth noting that lecturers of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of TNMU are also members of this society and actively contribute to its scientific activities and to the integration of Ukrainian science into the international research community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A scientific meeting was also held to discuss cooperation between departments in studying ADME parameters (in vitro and in vivo) and preparing joint grant applications.
