On March 25, 2026, representatives of the Mental Health Center of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University took part in a significant event\u2014the blessing of a support space for families of fallen defenders of Ukraine, known as the \u201cResurrection Space.\u201d The initiative operates under the Ternopil-Zboriv Archeparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cResurrection Space\u201d was created as a place of spiritual support where people who have lost loved ones in the war can find understanding, share their grief, and receive the assistance they need from others who share similar experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice-Rector for Science, Education, and Clinical Affairs at TNMU, Stepan Zaporozhan, introduced the clergy and community to the university\u2019s Mental Health Center’s resources and capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, it is extremely important to develop interdisciplinary cooperation. Only by combining spiritual guidance with professional psychological support can we create an environment in which a person feels heard and finds the strength for gradual recovery,\u201d the participants of the meeting emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TNMU Mental Health Center has successful experience working with families of the fallen. An important area of focus remains the training of clergy, for whom specialized training programs are implemented in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n

  • understanding the fundamentals of mental health;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • specifics of working with grief and loss;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • support for individuals in crisis situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    This joint initiative of the Church and the medical university is an example of how society unites to help heal the emotional wounds of those who have lost the most precious thing in the name of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
