On March 31, 2026, students of Ternopil Medical Lyceum No. 15 had the opportunity to engage with experts on one of the most pressing topics of today \u2014 maintaining mental health during wartime. The educational event was organized by child psychiatrist Oleksandr Lozynskyi and clinical psychologist Nataliia Verbetska, specialists from I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main focus of the lecture was understanding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As the lyceum students are future medical professionals, the discussion was both substantive and professionally oriented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, participants explored key aspects, including:
\u2022 the nature of stress (how the body and mind adapt to prolonged wartime conditions);
\u2022 markers of PTSD (what symptoms to watch for in oneself or others);
\u2022 defense mechanisms (how the psyche responds to traumatic situations and why these responses are normal in abnormal circumstances);
\u2022 an action algorithm (when self-help is insufficient and how to properly seek professional support).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur task is not only to provide knowledge but also to cultivate a culture of self-care. It is important to understand that seeking professional help is a sign of strength, not weakness,\u201d the center\u2019s specialists emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special attention was given to practical recommendations. Students learned how to support their peers during crises and which self-regulation techniques can help manage emotions \u201chere and now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mental Health Center continues its active collaboration with educational institutions in the region. Such meetings help young people not only better understand themselves but also be prepared for the challenges of today. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
