From March 21 to 30, 2026, at the Department of Medical Biochemistry of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in the discipline of Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry<\/em> was held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 60 of the best second-year students from the medical and dental faculties took part in the intellectual competition. The main requirement for participants was high academic performance (an average grade of 10 or higher). The first qualifying stage consisted of a test assessment, which included tasks from the \u201cKrok-1\u201d and IFOM databases. The second stage of the Olympiad was an oral interview, during which participants solved clinical and biochemical cases and situational tasks that required interpreting metabolic indicators to diagnose pathologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants\u2019 work was evaluated by a competent jury consisting of: Head of the Department, Professor S. Pidruchna; Professor O. Yaremchuk; Associate Professor A. Mudra (Olympiad coordinator); Associate Professor L. Palytsia; Associate Professor I. Kuzmak; Associate Professor T. Yaroshenko; Associate Professor M. Kulitska; Associate Professor N. Vasylyshyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the results, 18 future physicians, dentists, and students of the specialty Therapy and Rehabilitation<\/em> demonstrated the highest level of preparation and successfully advanced to the next stage of the Olympiad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad demonstrated a deep level of knowledge in Biological and Bioorganic Chemistry<\/em>, as it serves as the theoretical foundation of modern medicine and the basis for understanding vital processes in the human body. A high level of preparation at such competitions often serves as a catalyst for serious scientific work or the successful completion of exams such as \u201cKrok-1,\u201d an important step in the training of future healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
