On April 8, on the third anniversary of the death of TNMU graduate, pediatric orthopedic traumatologist Yaroslav Zhebeliuk, a lecture titled \u201cMemory That Saves Lives: Bone Marrow Donation\u201d was held at the university to honor his memory. The event became not only an opportunity to remember our Hero, but also a chance to draw attention to the extremely important topic of donation as a real way to save lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was organized by the RedLine team with the support of the Department of Pediatric Diseases with Pediatric Surgery and the Ukrainian Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Our shared goal was not only to honor the memory of our colleague, but also to continue Yaroslav\u2019s mission \u2014 saving lives by transforming the pain of loss into meaningful help for others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone interested had the opportunity to register with the Ukrainian Bone Marrow Donor Registry and make a contribution to the future of patients in need of transplantation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roman Kuts, co-founder of the Ukrainian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, spoke about donation, dispelled myths about bone marrow donation, and answered all questions from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of the Department of Pediatric Diseases with Pediatric Surgery at TNMU, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Oksana Boiarchuk, spoke about the importance of such initiatives and shared the story of her son, who became a donor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among those present was Yaroslav\u2019s sister, Khrystyna Katerenchuk, who took part in honoring her brother within the walls of his alma mater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
