Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University hosted Foreign Languages Week. The department\u2019s lecturers\u2014Professors Nadiia Fedchyshyn and Tetiana Khvalyboha; Associate Professors Nataliia Yelahina, Mariia Kichula, Nataliia Hantimurova, Ivanna Humenna, Halyna Kitura, Iryna Prokop, Halyna Klishch, and Mariia Bobak\u2014organized engaging interactive sessions in English and German.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The Head of the Department, Professor Nadiia Fedchyshyn, conducted an informative and interactive class on German medical terminology for medical students (group MM-219) on the topic \u201cSense Organs. Diseases of the Eye and Ear.\u201d Students actively participated by presenting prepared materials, demonstrating not only their knowledge of specialized German vocabulary but also their ability to apply it in a professional context. Particular attention was paid to terminology related to the anatomy of sense organs and common eye and ear diseases. This format contributed to developing students\u2019 professional language competence, confidence in using a foreign language, and readiness for intercultural professional communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image001-1-2-460x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image001-1-2-460x460.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image001-1-2-135x135.jpg 135w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image001-1-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image001-1-2.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><span>Professor Tetiana Khvalyboha organized an intellectual game,\u00a0<em>Brainstorm,<\/em>\u00a0for students of groups MM-207 and MM-103.<\/span> During the event, participants competed in English, answering various medical questions that required both professional knowledge and quick thinking. The game effectively combined erudition and professional training with the development of language competence, fostering teamwork, clinical thinking, and English professional communication skills. Students were actively engaged in discussions, demonstrating high motivation and enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere of healthy intellectual competition and genuine academic excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-11-460x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-11-460x460.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-11-135x135.jpg 135w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-11-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-11-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-11.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">With the support of Associate Professors Nataliia Yelahina and Mariia Kichula, an interactive English for Specific Purposes class was held for medical students (group MM-202) and dental students (group SS-105). The session, titled <em>\u201cClinical English Lab: Obstetrics &amp; Pediatrics<\/em> in Practice,\u201d combined elements of learning, discussion, and teamwork. Participants explored basic medical terminology and professional communication features in obstetrics and pediatrics. Through mini-presentations and interactive tasks, students enhanced both their professional language competence and essential soft skills, including communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-15-460x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-15-460x460.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-15-135x135.jpg 135w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-15-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-15.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Students of group MM-114 demonstrated creativity and strong engagement during an English class on <em>\u201cFirst Aid in Emergency Conditions,\u201d<\/em> led by Associate Professor Iryna Prokop. They prepared presentations, creative tasks, crosswords, puzzles, and quizzes, showing a high level of interest in professional English. A separate part of the class emphasized the importance of English (\u201cEnglish acts as the connective tissue of global health\u201d) and the structure of complex medical terms. The session fostered logical thinking, communication skills, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"736\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image006-4-736x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image006-4-736x460.jpg 736w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image006-4-216x135.jpg 216w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image006-4-768x480.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image006-4.jpg 1472w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 736px) 100vw, 736px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Associate Professor Halyna Kitura conducted dynamic and creative classes in \u201cEnglish for Professional Purposes\u201d for first-year dental (group SS-107) and medical (group MM-112) students. Dental students presented the topic <em>\u201cXerostomia\u201d<\/em> with a creative approach, highlighting the importance of English in mastering dental terminology and professional practice. Medical students demonstrated <span>a deep understanding of\u00a0<em>\u201cThe Circulatory System\u201d<\/em>\u00a0through interactive presentations and teamwork, demonstrating strong communication skills and a\u00a0<\/span>confident use of professional vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image008-1-460x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image008-1-460x460.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image008-1-135x135.jpg 135w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image008-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image008-1.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">During classes led by Associate Professor Ivanna Humenna, students demonstrated a high level of preparation and professional interest. Medical students (groups MM-115 and MM-117) focused on the role of English as an essential component of a modern physician\u2019s professional activity. Dental students (group SS-103) presented research on the etiology and prevention of gingivitis, while medical students (group MM-101) introduced first aid algorithms for emergency conditions. Students worked \u0430\u043a\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043d\u043e with professional vocabulary, improved translation skills, and analyzed challenges in rendering medical terminology in English. The use of presentations, thematic crosswords, and interactive platforms made the learning process dynamic and engaging. Students also explored early representations of medicine in English-language literature, broadening both professional and cultural perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image010-1-460x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image010-1-460x460.jpg 460w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image010-1-135x135.jpg 135w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image010-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image010-1.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Associate Professors Tetiana Savaryn, Roman Kotsiuba, Ivanna Vorona, and Halyna Palasiuk delivered a series of Latin language classes, successfully combining classical academic approaches with modern interactive methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">First-year students (groups MM-111 and MM-112), during Latin classes on <em>\u201cLiquid Dosage Forms\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201cSemi-solid Dosage Forms\u201d<\/em> led by Associate Professor Tetiana Savaryn, presented on the history, prescription writing, innovations, and interesting facts about these pharmaceutical forms.
