Today, it is a modern academic and research center consistently ranked among the top 15 universities in Spain. Cooperation between USC and TNMU within the Erasmus+ KA107 program provides academic mobility opportunities for faculty members and PhD students of both institutions. Over the course of the project, TNMU representatives have repeatedly undertaken internships at various USC faculties, gaining insight into the organization of the educational process, research, and the university\u2019s clinical base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped eplus-wrapper wp-block-gallery-2\">\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"613\" height=\"460\" data-id=\"184624\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-16-613x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184624\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-16-613x460.jpg 613w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-16-180x135.jpg 180w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-16-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image003-16.jpg 921w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 613px) 100vw, 613px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Nataliia Kravets trained at the Faculty of Pharmacy, within the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology. Her work was supervised by the Head of the Department, Professor Ana Mar\u00eda Otero Casal, who leads the research group <em>\u201cBiotechnology for the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Infectious Diseases.\u201d<\/em> Professor Otero Casal personally coordinated the visit program, which included educational, research, and clinical components. The department integrates two major fields\u2014microbiology and parasitology\u2014and employs 32 academic and research staff members. They provide teaching for 10 bachelor\u2019s programs, 4 dual-degree programs, 6 master\u2019s programs, and 3 PhD programs. In addition, department specialists are involved in eight research groups at USC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"613\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image004-9-613x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image004-9-613x460.jpg 613w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image004-9-180x135.jpg 180w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image004-9-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image004-9.jpg 1473w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 613px) 100vw, 613px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><span>During the mobility program, Nataliia Kravets delivered an open lecture for PhD students,\u00a0<em>\u201cMicrobiological Diagnosis of Respiratory Tract Infections with a Focus on Staphylococcus aureus and Biofilm-Associated Pathogenesis.\u201d<\/em><\/span> The lecture took place at the Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS) and sparked active discussion among young researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"344\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-24-344x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-184626\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-24-344x460.jpg 344w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-24-101x135.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image005-24.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 344px) 100vw, 344px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">She also had the opportunity to closely observe the organization of practical training for pharmacy students at USC. As part of a large-scale modernization launched in 2021, the microbiology laboratory was equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and the hospital\u2019s total area increased by 30%. Today, this upgraded center serves as a key diagnostic hub in northwestern Spain. The researchers also discussed the work of PhD students under their supervision and the practical aspects of organizing research activities at the faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">During the visit, Nataliia Kravets met with Biotechnology students from USC&#8217;s Faculty of Biology. Young researchers presented the results of their scientific work.
