Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University continues to actively expand the horizons of international cooperation and implement advanced global standards in the training of rehabilitation specialists. Recently, TNMU representatives, within the framework of the international <strong>SU-CARE<\/strong> project, made a working visit to Sweden, a country recognized as one of the world&#8217;s leaders in prosthetics and orthotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The international <strong>SU-CARE<\/strong> project (<em>Swedish-Ukrainian Collegial Assistance for Rehabilitation Education<\/em>) is organized by J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping University in partnership with <strong>Protez Hub Charity Foundation<\/strong> and brings together Swedish and Ukrainian institutions with a shared goal: ensuring the sustainable development of prosthetic and orthotic care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Our university was represented by <strong>Tetiana Bakaliuk<\/strong>, guarantor of the educational and professional program <em>\u201cProsthetics and Orthotics,\u201d<\/em> and <strong>Iryna Kamyshna<\/strong>, Professor of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"345\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image001-7-345x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-185446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image001-7-345x460.jpg 345w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image001-7-101x135.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image001-7-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image001-7.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 345px) 100vw, 345px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The main purpose of the visit was to study the operational experience of leading rehabilitation clinics and high-tech prosthetic companies, as well as to integrate the best European practices into TNMU\u2019s new master\u2019s program in <em>Prosthetics and Orthotics<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The visit program was highly intensive and included major production and clinical facilities. Project participants visited global industry leaders such as Ottobock and Fillauer. His story is an example of extraordinary resilience: after losing three limbs in an accident in 2006, he not only returned to active sports but also became an inventor. The delegation had the opportunity to observe the full continuum of patient care\u2014from diagnostics and the development of customized orthotic devices to complex surgical interventions and subsequent prosthetic fitting. The acquired knowledge of innovative materials, digital scanning methods, and international quality standards will be integrated into the curricula of master\u2019s students specializing in <em>Prosthetics and Orthotics<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">We sincerely thank our Swedish partners for their openness and willingness to collaborate.
