On May 14, 2026<\/strong>, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong> hosted a student Integrity Debate<\/strong>, an interactive event that challenged participants with real-life ethical dilemmas requiring thoughtful discussion and difficult moral decision-making. The cases addressed issues such as cheating, purchasing lecture notes, and embellishing r\u00e9sum\u00e9s with fabricated personal achievements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 16 students<\/strong> took part in the competition, forming four teams:<\/p>\n\n\n

  • \u201cResuscitation of Conscience\u201d<\/strong> (Anastasiia Lutska, Taisa Hrytsiuk, Veronika Bulka, Kateryna Kodes<\/em>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \u201cStop Bribery Squad\u201d<\/strong> (Maksym Tsyts, Olha Hrodzik, Veronika Kostiuk, Polina Novakova<\/em>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \u201cVerbal Knockout\u201d<\/strong> (Viktor Antoniuk, Sofiia Zborovska, Andriana Bilovus, Yuliia Alekseichuk<\/em>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \u201cDose of Truth\u201d<\/strong> (Bohdan Tsap, Arina Kryvun, Diana Matlaha, Mykhailo Fishchuk<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    All teams demonstrated a high level of motivation and engagement, approaching the debates with seriousness and enthusiasm. The winning team was \u201cStop Bribery Squad,\u201d<\/strong> whose arguments were recognized as the most compelling and well-founded. \u201cResuscitation of Conscience\u201d<\/strong> earned second place, while \u201cVerbal Knockout\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cDose of Truth\u201d<\/strong> also competed vigorously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Taras Borys<\/strong>, Head of the University\u2019s Legal Department;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Viktoriia Miroshnyk<\/strong>, Chair of the Student Scientific Society;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Danylo Kutsenko<\/strong>, Head of the Student Parliament Secretariat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The debates were moderated by Mykhailo Halei, Mariia Yanchyshyna, and Nazarii Bobko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong> is one of only five Ukrainian universities<\/strong>, the only institution in the Ternopil region<\/strong>, and the only medical university in Ukraine<\/strong> participating in the 2025\u20132026 pilot implementation of the \u201cMethodological Recommendations for Building Integrity in Higher Education Institutions.\u201d<\/strong> This initiative aims to systematically transform university environments through principles of transparency and academic integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong> is one of only five Ukrainian universities<\/strong>, the only institution in the Ternopil region<\/strong>, and the only medical university in Ukraine<\/strong> participating in the 2025\u20132026 pilot implementation of the \u201cMethodological Recommendations for Building Integrity in Higher Education Institutions.\u201d<\/strong> This initiative aims to systematically transform university environments through principles of transparency and academic integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As part of the project, the university has completed a self-assessment of its readiness to implement integrity policies. In collaboration with experts, it identified key challenges and growth opportunities in its anti-corruption framework and received an individualized, step-by-step action plan to implement the recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The debate event was held within the framework of the pilot project \u201cAnti-Corruption and Integrity: Transforming the Higher Education Environment,\u201d<\/strong> implemented by the Integrity Office of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention<\/strong> in partnership with the NGO \u201cAnti-Corruption Headquarters\u201d<\/strong>, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine<\/strong> and funding from the Government of Denmark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Other participating institutions in the project include Borys <\/strong>H<\/strong>rinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University<\/strong>, Hryhorii Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University<\/strong>, Poltava State Agrarian University<\/strong>, and Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On April 17, 2025<\/strong>, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine<\/strong> officially approved the \u201cMethodological Recommendations on the Use of Tools and Mechanisms for Transforming Various Areas of Higher Education Institutions Based on Transparency and Integrity,\u201d<\/strong> developed by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention<\/strong>. The document provides practical guidance for reforming university governance, educational processes, internal policies, and administrative operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
