On May 17, 2026, second- and third-year paramedic students contributed to youth career guidance and the promotion of life-saving knowledge. Accompanied by Mariana Varvaruk, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Emergency and Simulation Medicine, they took part in the Open Day event \u201cThe Formula of Choice\u201d<\/em>, held at Lesya Ukrainka Ternopil Educational Complex \u201cGeneral Education School \u2013 Medical Lyceum No. 15.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event provided an excellent opportunity for school students to gain a closer insight into the world of emergency medicine and to acquire their first practical first aid skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the paramedic students organized several training stations where they conducted hands-on workshops for the participants on critically important topics, including:<\/p>\n\n\n

    \n
  • basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • control and management of massive bleeding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    The participants listened with great enthusiasm to the senior students’ explanations, actively asked questions, and eagerly practiced each procedure themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u041dThe CPR training on a specialized manikin generated the greatest excitement among the school students. With remarkable interest and responsibility, the teenagers performed chest compressions, learned how to calculate the correct force and rate of compressions, and, most importantly, practiced how to act appropriately in critical situations when every second counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once again, the paramedic students demonstrated that an interactive format, practical knowledge, and direct communication are the most effective ways to inspire young people to pursue a career in medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The successful implementation of this outreach workshop was made possible thanks to valuable technical support. The students and the Department of Emergency and Simulation Medicine express their sincere gratitude to the Simulation Training Center for its comprehensive assistance, including the provision of high-tech manikins and professional equipment. Thanks to this support, future healthcare professionals have the opportunity to carry out such important and educational community outreach projects for young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
