Oksana Shevchuk<\/strong>, Professor of the Department of Pharmacology with Clinical Pharmacology and Head of Research Management at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong>, participated in the Thematic Summit on Health & Food, Environment, and Data, Computing & Digital Research Infrastructures<\/strong>. The event took place on June 15\u201316 in Brno and was organized by Masaryk University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit focused on the development and integration of Ukrainian research infrastructures within the following ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures)<\/strong> domains:<\/p>\n\n\n

  • Health & Food<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Environment<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Data, Computing and Digital Research Infrastructures<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    RIFF (Research Infrastructures for the Future of Ukraine: Roadmap for Sustained Growth and Recovery)<\/strong> is an international project funded under the Horizon Europe<\/strong> programme. It is coordinated by Masaryk University in partnership with Ukrainian and European organizations and is being implemented during 2025\u20132028 within the Horizon Europe framework dedicated to research infrastructures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During the summit, Professor Oksana Shevchuk<\/strong> presented a poster describing the research infrastructure of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It was particularly encouraging that, within the context of Open Access<\/strong> and Open Science<\/strong>, special recognition was given to the OPEN4UA Erasmus+ Project<\/strong>, of which TNMU is a consortium member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    The RIFF project aims to support the modernization of Ukraine\u2019s research and innovation system by providing a forward-looking vision for Ukrainian research infrastructures. The project is developing a Roadmap for the Recovery and Enhancement of Research Infrastructures in Ukraine<\/strong>, drawing upon the experience and best practices of European Union countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The roadmap will be created using two complementary approaches:<\/p>\n\n\n

      \n
    • a bottom-up approach<\/strong>, involving open calls for proposals, training activities, and awareness-raising initiatives;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • a top-down approach<\/strong>, based on consultations with governmental institutions and the scientific community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

      Through these efforts, RIFF seeks to strengthen Ukraine\u2019s research capacity, foster international cooperation, and facilitate the integration of Ukrainian research infrastructures into the broader European Research Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
