I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) ranked second among Ukrainian higher education institutions<\/strong>, placing in the 1201\u20131500<\/strong> band of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings<\/strong>. The University also secured first place among all medical higher education institutions in Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings<\/strong> is one of the world’s most influential international university rankings, evaluating institutions based on the quality of their teaching, research, and overall academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ranking is based on five key performance indicators:<\/p>\n\n\n

  • Teaching (29.5%)<\/strong> \u2013 assesses the University’s academic reputation through surveys of scholars, the staff-to-student ratio, the number of doctoral degrees awarded, and institutional income. This indicator reflects the quality of the learning environment provided by the University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Research Environment (29.5%)<\/strong> \u2013 evaluates research reputation, research income, and research productivity, including the number of scholarly publications per academic staff member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Research Quality (30%)<\/strong> \u2013 measures the impact of the University’s research through citation performance, research excellence, and the proportion of publications appearing in the world’s most prestigious international scientific journals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Industry (2.5%)<\/strong> \u2013 considers income generated through collaboration with industry, the number of patents awarded, and citations of the University’s research in patent documentation. This indicator demonstrates the practical impact and real-world application of research outcomes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • International Outlook (7.5%)<\/strong> \u2013 evaluates the proportion of international students and academic staff, as well as the number of research publications co-authored with scholars from other countries. This criterion reflects the University’s level of integration into the global academic community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
