Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine took part in the webinar \u201cApplication of Ukrainian Legislation in the Field of Academic Integrity,\u201d organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">The opening remarks were delivered by Nataliia Stukalo, Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">The presentations by the Agency\u2019s experts were particularly valuable for the practical work of the Academic Integrity Center:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\" wp-block-list eplus-wrapper eplus-styles-uid-fb95e9\">\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Nataliia Batsak \u2014 \u201cPractical Aspects of Implementing the Law: Updating Local Regulations, Methodology and Tools for Checking Academic Texts for Plagiarism\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Oleksii Pushniak \u2014 \u201cCitation Through the Lens of Academic Integrity: Rules of Academic Writing.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">Particular attention during the event was devoted to the transition from the formal fulfilment of legislative requirements to the establishment of an effective academic integrity assurance system in higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">For the Academic Integrity Center of Ternopil National Medical University, these issues are directly related to its ongoing work to improve the university\u2019s internal academic integrity system, including:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\" wp-block-list eplus-wrapper eplus-styles-uid-8fbc1d\">\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">updating local regulations in accordance with the Law of Ukraine \u201cOn Academic Integrity\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">improving procedures for reviewing reports and complaints concerning possible violations of academic integrity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">developing clear approaches to checking academic texts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">establishing consistent approaches to citation and academic writing;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">raising awareness among academic and teaching staff and students of the principles of academic integrity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">It is important for us that the updated legislation is translated into practical implementation through clear procedures, high-quality local regulations, and everyday academic practices at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">We thank the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and the webinar speakers for the up-to-date information, practical recommendations, and the opportunity for professional discussion of further steps in the field of
