<\/a><\/p>\nPresident of the branch, fourth-year student Zuzanna Betkowiak from Poland, congratulated all present on the start of the new academic year. She noted that more than 40 TSMU students have already applied to join the EMSA, and most of them were attending the meeting. This year, deadline for applications is November 1st<\/sup>, and both Ukrainian and international students are encouraged to apply. Among main EMSA activities are educational, professional development and research projects.<\/p>\n Zuzanna Betkowiak spoke about work of this public organization and the projects that have already been implemented. The branch\u2019s main areas of focus are medical education, medicine, medical ethics and culture, European integration, and public health.<\/p>\n The president introduced her team, which includes the Vice President for Training and Research Amin Mudasar, Vice President for HR Samirah Hayatullah, Vice President for Public Relations \u00a0Arshbeer Sandhu, and Vice President for Administrative Work Taye Salaudeen.<\/p>\n Dean of the International Students\u2019 Faculty Dr. Petro Selskyi and Deputy Director of the Center for Educational and Cultural Development, Dr. Olena Pokryshko attended to the meeting.<\/p>\n In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Petro Selskyi said that EMSA today is an active organization that advances the university\u2019s reputation both nationally and internationally. He commended the desire of students to grow, support civic initiatives and become leaders. Dr. Selskyi wished European Medical Students\u2019 Association every success in their further endeavors and pledged in this the full support of the dean\u2019s office.<\/p>\n Dr. Olena Pokrychko, who serves as EMSA curator in Ternopil, also wished the group success in their new projects and increased membership.<\/p>\n The next point on the meeting\u2019s agenda was a report of EMSA previous president, Parth Sabya Sachi, on his participation in the XXVII International Autumn Congress of the European Medical Students\u2019 Association, which took place in Budapest in September 2017. The Ukrainian delegation also included other Ternopil State Medical University students, \u00a0Daniel Okechukwu and Frank Omerekpe. The main theme of the Congress was Antimicrobial Resistance, an issue that becomes increasingly important in the medical field worldwide.<\/p>\n On the congress, TSMU students have presented the university and EMSA Ternopil branch. The presentation was a success, resulting in proposals to implement joint projects from students from Germany and Poland.<\/p>\n Traditionally, each meeting of the European Medical Students\u2019 Association has a practical side. This time, clinical intern Amin Mudasar conducted a workshop on how to proper dressing and immobilizing injured parts of the body.
