On October 28, 2024, the second seminar on forming a national consensus on open science took place. The event was organized by the project consortium \u201cOpen Science for Ukrainian Higher Education System (Open4UA)\u201d (Erasmus+ CBHE Strand 3), of which Ternopil National Medical University is a part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the Open4UA team presented the results of an analysis of national legislation for its alignment with European standards in open science and research evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project coordinator Associate Professor Oleksandr Berezko opened the seminar by focusing on key legislative aspects of implementing open science practices in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bohdan Karnaukh (Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University) discussed soft law documents, major \u201ctrapdoors,\u201d and forming Ukrainian open science legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nataliia Filatova-Bilous\u2019s report centered on the legislative implementation of open access to scientific and technical information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrii Yevkov elaborated on the conflicts between copyright issues and open science principles and the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Heorhii Vasyliiev detailed the institutional tools for advancing open science and improving research assessment, emphasizing the importance of understanding the diversity of scientific contributions and the infrastructure of open science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
