Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University<\/strong>&nbsp;ranked&nbsp;<strong>second among medical higher education institutions in Ukraine<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>thirteenth in the overall list of Ukrainian universities<\/strong><br>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scimagoir.com\/rankings.php?sector=Higher+educ.&amp;country=UKR\">https:\/\/www.scimagoir.com\/rankings.php?sector=Higher+educ.&amp;country=UKR<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/SCImago-Institutions-Rankings2026-674x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-180054\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/%D0%B6%D1%83%D1%80%D0%BD%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%B8-522x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-180056\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This year,&nbsp;<strong>75 Ukrainian universities<\/strong>&nbsp;were included in the SCImago Institutions Rankings for the first time. In total, the&nbsp;<strong>Spanish research group SCImago Lab<\/strong>&nbsp;evaluated the performance of&nbsp;<strong>10,000 scientific and educational institutions worldwide<\/strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>more than 5,000 universities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SCImago Institutions Rankings<\/strong>&nbsp;is a respected international evaluation system for scientific and academic institutions. Since&nbsp;<strong>2009<\/strong>, it has assessed institutional performance based on three key areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>research performance (50%)<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>innovation outputs (30%)<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>societal impact (20%)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The evaluation takes into account:<br>\u2022 the impact of scientific publications;<br>\u2022 the level of international collaboration;<br>\u2022 open access to research;<br>\u2022 the development of patent activity;<br>\u2022 the university\u2019s technological contribution and digital presence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the new edition of the global ranking of academic and research institutions,&nbsp;SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2026,&nbsp;I.
