Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) ranked&nbsp;<strong>second among Ukrainian higher education institutions<\/strong>, placing in the&nbsp;<strong>1201\u20131500<\/strong>&nbsp;band of the&nbsp;<strong>Times Higher Education World University Rankings<\/strong>. The University also secured&nbsp;<strong>first place among all medical higher education institutions in Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>Times Higher Education World University Rankings<\/strong>&nbsp;is one of the world\u2019s most influential international university rankings, evaluating institutions based on the quality of their teaching, research, and overall academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/rejtyng-1-784x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-188542\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ranking is based on five key performance indicators:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Teaching (29.5%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 assesses the University\u2019s academic reputation through surveys of scholars, the staff-to-student ratio, the number of doctoral degrees awarded, and institutional income. This indicator reflects the quality of the learning environment provided by the University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research Environment (29.5%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 evaluates research reputation, research income, and research productivity, including the number of scholarly publications per academic staff member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research Quality (30%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 measures the impact of the University\u2019s research through citation performance, research excellence, and the proportion of publications appearing in the world\u2019s most prestigious international scientific journals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industry (2.5%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 considers income generated through collaboration with industry, the number of patents awarded, and citations of the University\u2019s research in patent documentation. This indicator demonstrates the practical impact and real-world application of research outcomes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International Outlook (7.5%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 evaluates the proportion of international students and academic staff, as well as the number of research publications co-authored with scholars from other countries. This criterion reflects the University\u2019s level of integration into the global academic community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We warmly congratulate the entire TNMU academic community on this outstanding international recognition.
