This requires competent prevention of these diseases. According to the modern concept, periodontal disease is a specific process that occurs as a result of the interaction of various factors. It is characterized by constant destruction of the periodontal tissue with subsequent tooth loss. Prevention of periodontal diseases is a very difficult task and is part of dental prophylaxis aimed at improving the health of the whole body. It is a complex of measures aimed at increasing the resistance of the entire organism and periodontal tissues, in particular to the action of adverse factors and preventing the occurrence of an unfavourable situation in the oral cavity.
