Treatment of Caries and Its Complications

   In the Dental Department, the entire range of medical manipulations for dental caries and its complications is carried out. The prevalence of caries among the population of Ukraine exceeds 90% (due to the high intensity of this pathological process). The progression of caries causes the appearance of pulpitis and periodontitis, which affects the general level of health and working capacity of the population. Complications arising in the treatment of caries require further complex endodontic treatment. Untimely treatment of caries and its complications leads to the possible development of a number of pathological processes in the bones and soft tissues of the maxillofacial area: abscesses, odontogenic periostitis, osteomyelitis, phlegmon, lymphadenitis, etc. The list of these pathological processes alone indicates the need for careful diagnosis, the importance of timely prevention and treatment of dental caries, which makes it possible to prevent the development of complications.
