Seminar to present midterm results of the project Ukraine Nature

The Ukraine Nature team and partners from Ukraine, Poland and Italy invites BUP colleagues working with protected areas and experts working in the field of water and soil contamination, biodiversity conservation and environmental protection as well as Satellite Imagery and GIS to attend the seminar. The event will take place online from Hamburg on 22-23 of May 2023.

During the seminar the midterm project results will be presented. The participants will also receive valuable information about the damaged areas in research preservations, biodiversity loss, and consequences of combat operations that still affect the ecosystems or will affect them in the future. The event will also explore how the war affected the ability to perform the duties of the employees (including scientists) as well as its effects on human health.

Ukraine Nature aims to provide a solid basis for future environmental restoration measures within four areas in Ukraine: 


•    Holosiivskyi National Nature Park
•    Desna-Starohutskyi National Nature Park
•    Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve
•    Hetman National Nature Park
