The First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, Serhiy Dubrov, discussed with the students and teaching staff of TNMU the draft of the order “On Amendments to Certain Regulatory Acts of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”, related to changes to the order “On Approving the Regulations on Internship”.
During the discussion of changes regarding internships for international students, the Dean of the Faculty of international students, prof. Mariya Marushchak, drew attention to the critical point of this provision, which concerns the lack of the right to work as a doctor in Ukraine, because it contradicts the basic requirements of the National Medical Commission of India for the educational level of applicants, which studied abroad.
Rector Mykhaylo Korda noted that the student body and administration of TNMU proposes to remove the second sub-paragraph from paragraph ten “The presence of a certificate of completion of training under the primary specialization program “General medical practice” does not grant the right to work as a doctor in Ukraine.” This proposal is due to the need to bring the structure of medical education in line with international requirements, which will allow international graduates to complete the nostrification procedure of their educational documents at home.
First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Serhiy Dubrov promised to consider this issue and legally settle it.
