On May 26, on the occasion of Africa Day, the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine hosted a forum titled “Ukraine – Africa: Past, Present and Future of Relations”.


The forum was also attended by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra, Secretary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and Brigadier General Dmytro Usov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Health Maryna Slobodnichenko, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Denys Bashlyk, Deputy Minister of Culture for European Integration Nataliya Movshovych, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Karasevich, as well as President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine Gennady Chyzhykov, Vice President of the NGO “African Council in Ukraine” Diallo Issa Sadio and representatives of the diplomatic corps, Iryna Ivashchuk, First Deputy Director of the Gennady Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Senegal in Ukraine, as well as representatives of higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Africa Day is a global symbol of victory over colonialism and unity of the peoples of the continent.


For Ukraine, Africa Day has a special meaning. We ourselves are just now fighting for the right to our free future against neo-colonial aggression. We understand the value of true sovereignty and justice like no one else
