The Webometrics ranking of higher education institutions for January 2026 has been published. In compiling the ranking, such indicators as global visibility, research excellence, openness, and academic performance were taken into account.
In the January 2026 edition of the ranking, Ternopil National Medical University ranked first among Ukrainian medical universities and placed 14th on the overall list of 290 Ukrainian higher education institutions. More details are available at: https://www.webometrics.org/ukraine

Overall, 32,000 higher education institutions from more than 200 countries worldwide were evaluated. The compilers of the ranking consider educational activity, bibliometric indicators of the institution, the scientific and political impact of university activities, the significance of technology transfer, engagement with the community, and the university’s social, cultural, and environmental role.
The authors of the ranking emphasize that Webometrics reflects a university’s activity, transparency, and academic impact. The growth of high-quality digital content, open electronic publications, and scientific communication is a key factor in success in the global ranking.
For many consecutive years, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University has maintained the leading position among medical higher education institutions, which testifies to the consistently high quality of educational services provided.
