This year, TNMU took first place among medical universities of Ukraine and ranked 11th in the overall list of all Ukrainian institutions included in the ranking. In the July 2025 edition of the ranking, 32,000 higher education institutions from over 200 countries worldwide were evaluated. The compilers of this ranking take into account educational activities, bibliometric indicators of the institution, as well as the scientific and political impact of the university’s activities, the significance of technology transfer, community engagement, and the university’s social, cultural, and environmental roles. When assessing scientific outputs, which are among the key components of the Webometrics ranking, not only formal publications (in electronic journals and repositories) are considered but also informal scientific communication. The ranking authors emphasize that Webometrics reflects the activity, transparency, and academic impact of a university. The growth of high-quality digital content, open electronic publications, and scientific communication is one of the key factors for success in the global ranking. In addition to evaluating external inbound links to a university’s domain (50% of the score), 40% of the score is based on the number of top 10% most-cited publications across 27 disciplines, and 10% is based on the total number of citations.
