The 2026-27 call for applications to the Future Education Fellowship Program at the Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) is now open.
Part of the LUH’s LIFT Program, the Future Education fellowships aim to foster innovation and scholarly excellence by attracting international researchers to Hannover. The 2026-27 call inaugurates the fellowship program, which is projected to run until 2029 and will include further calls for applications during this period.
Required documents
Please compile all the documents listed below into a single PDF file (filename: 2026-Application_Last Name) and send it, along with an informal cover letter, via email to the Fellowship Program Coordinator. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Project description (maximum 2 pages)
- Guiding research question(s)
- Planned scope or aspect of the project to be worked on during the stay at LUH (e.g. publication, concept for a new project, etc.)
- Proposed cooperation partners at LUH
- Planned length of stay
The project description should contain the following information:
Academic CV
Please submit a CV outlining the most important stages of your academic career. The CV should include the applicant’s nationality, current position, and home institution.
List of publications
Please attach a list of publications containing the following information:
- Your most important peer-reviewed publications (max. 10 entries)
- Your most important non-peer-reviewed publications (max. 10 entries)
Proof of doctorate
Please enclose a copy of your doctoral certificate(s) or an official transcript of records as proof of your qualifications.
The application deadline is August 31, 2026 for fellowships starting in the winter semester 2026/27 (October 2026 to March 2027) and January 29, 2027 for fellowships starting in the summer semester 2027 (April to September 2027).
The selection of applicants is based on the following criteria:
- Scientific excellence
- Special achievements in the area of knowledge transfer, science-related or social engagement
- Professional fit with the profile of the LSE and potential for cooperation at the LSE or LUH
