TNMU Teachers Completed Internship within the Educational Program for Doctors

On April 20-27, 2024, Associate Professors of the Department of Pathological Anatomy, Forensic Medicine and Autopsy Course of TMNU Tetiana Holovata and Anna Mykolenko took part in a professional internship as part of an educational program for doctors organized by the French non-governmental public organization “Association of French-Ukrainian Cooperation in the Field of Health Care “I and Pharmacy” (ASFUDS) in cooperation with the World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Societies.

The internship took place at the clinical facilities of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Amsterdam. The regional clinic “Cadix” in Antwerp (Belgium) and the clinic “Charite” in Berlin (Germany) were also visited as part of the program.

During the internship, the participants had a chance to get acquainted with the system of higher medical education and the organization of health care in the visited European Union countries. They were also presented with the activities of individual medical clinics, the algorithm for working with patients and its effectiveness, in particular, large multidisciplinary hospitals. The centralization of medical services and the latest technical equipment make it possible to treat patients as efficiently as possible and to carry out diagnostic measures. Pathomorphological diagnosis is carried out directly in the hospital, if necessary, by express biopsy by making cryo-sections.

Of great interest is the anatomical and pathanatomical museum of the “Charite” clinic, which is used in the educational process of students.

The acquired knowledge and skills will enable us, as university teachers and clinical practitioners, to improve the quality of students’ knowledge based on the development of new methods of teaching and scientific work, to involve students in international cooperation, and to improve the quality of internal knowledge control mechanisms. As a result, it will facilitate the integration of students and graduates into the European educational space and medical practice.
