TNMU Professor Took Part in the “Being Visible as a Science Manager” Workshop

The field of research of Ukraine needs competent management and the building of professional networks of scientists; interaction on the ground, within the country and with foreign colleagues, internationalization. In the modern world, a scientists must possess very different competences. On the eve of Science Day in Ukraine on May 14, 2024, the online workshop “Being Visible as a Science Manager” took place.

The event was organized by Potsdam Graduate School and Leibniz Universität Hannover as part of the DAAD project “Management of Internationalization and German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation 2024” together with the Professional Network of Research and Higher Education Managers in Ukraine (PNRM Ukraine) and the Network of Science Management in Germany (NWM, Netzwerk Wissenschaftsmanagement). Almost 50 participants from Ukraine and Germany took part in the event. Professor Oksana Shevchuk, who is also a member of the public organization PNRM Ukraine, represented TNMU.

Expert panels were formed, headed by German and Ukrainian experts Elena Lichtenthaler and Dr. Martin R. Lichtenthaler, Alice Hohn, Lia Lang, Gerrit Roessler, Oksana Berezna, Nataliia Bovtruk, and Konstantin Kyrychenko.

This made it possible to analyze the issues of international “visibility” and cooperation, career advancement, building personal and systemic (as part of the higher educational institution or organization) visibility of the scientist and the manager of scientific projects, the issue of internationalization from different sides and different Ukrainian and German perspectives.
