TNMU Students Participated in the “From Vision to Action. Effective Management of Medical Institutions in Ukraine” Conference

On October 27, 2023, the conference “From vision to action. Effective management of medical institutions in Ukraine” was held in Kyiv. The conference was attended by a large number of practicing doctors, interns, employees of universities in the administrative field of activity, as well as students. Ternopil National Medical University was represented by Oleksandr Mihenko, Oleksandr Levenets, Dmytro Farion and Vladyslav Fira.

The students were joined by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Petro Lykhatskyi. One of the speakers of this conference was Oleksandr Lysytsia, a valid member of the world association of paediatric oncologists SIOP and an expert of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in the field of “Paediatric Oncology / Paediatric Haematology”.

He taught all the conference participants how to properly assemble an effective team of medical professionals and explained why it is important. Also, one of the speakers of the conference was Oleksii Kolesnyk, DSc in Medicine, Professor of the Department of Oncology and Oncosurgery of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, a valid member of the European Association of Thoracic Surgeons, the European Association of Medical Oncologists.

He informed the audience about the important role of a leader in a healthcare team, the qualities one must cultivate to become a leader, and the role of clinical research in achieving success in the medical field.

At the end of the conference, the participants received test tasks and certificates based on the results of their completion.
