TNMU Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology Participated in the Conference “Psychosomatic Medicine: Science and Practice”

On November 2-3, 2023, the 6th Research and Training Conference “Psychosomatic Medicine: Science and Practice” was held by O. Bohomolets National Medical University. Head of TNMU Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology, DSc in Medicine, Professor Olena Venger took part in the event.

During the conference, Professor Olena Venger presented a report on the topic “Psychosomatic disorders in combatants with underlying post-covid conditions”, during which she shared unique, extremely valuable research on military personnel with comorbid mental health problems.

In general, during the event, leading experts shared their experience in working with military personnel, studying combat injuries and the impact of military conflicts on children and youth. The problem of emotional burnout among medical and psychological specialists, practical aspects of mental health in the conditions of war and after the COVID-19 pandemic were also considered. The conference became an important platform for dialogue, exchange of ideas, which contributes to the further development of psychosomatic medicine.
