Book Lovers Club at TNMU

On November 2, 2023, first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine, Khrystyna Paprotska, Sofia Hlushkova, and Oksana Izhevska (group MM-107) organized the first meeting of the Book Lovers Club.

Tutors of the first-year students, associate professors of the Department of General Chemistry Maria Kyryliv and Iryna Bekus, as well as students of the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, joined the event. The participants of the event discussed the book “This Is Going to Hurt” by Adam Kay, who personally went through the path of becoming a doctor. In the book, he talked in detail about all his ups and downs. This makes his story even more relevant for medical students.

The participants talked about the lives of doctors, curious and strange situations in the practice of a physician, the realities of their work and the state of medicine in Ukraine now and Great Britain at the beginning of the 21st century. During the meeting, the students warmed up with hot tea and a pleasant friendly atmosphere.

We decided to organize such an event so that book-loving doctors would have the opportunity to meet like-minded people, share their impressions of the book they read and chat.
