TNMU Teachers and Interns Discussed Stress Management Techniques

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, teachers of TNMU Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology, together with intern doctors, organized the event “Overcoming stress together” at the “Caritas” charitable foundation. Internally displaced persons currently living in Ternopil were invited to participate. Today, they belong to a vulnerable category of the population that may experience a number of negative symptoms and mental manifestations due to forced resettlement.

At the beginning of the event, the Head of the Department, Professor Olena Venger, greeted the guests of the event. Taking into account the complexity of the events that Ukrainians are currently experiencing, intern doctors in their reports raised important and relevant topics, in particular, methods of stress and anxiety management, as well as healthy sleep and its improvement.

All those present were taught techniques of relaxation and stress relief. Everyone willing was able to get individual consultation of specialists for free. Booklets with self-help techniques for anxiety, panic and stress were distributed.

Individual events were held for children in the form of a game with gifts and sweets. We express our appreciation to the Charitable Foundation “Caritas” for the space provided to support the mental health of the population and all the participants of the event.
